Talleres has announced Jorge Sampaoli as its new coach. The 66-year-old coach will sign until December 2027. Replaces Carlos Tévez in the position. The agreement will be made official in the coming hours. Argentine media and journalists such as César Luis Merlo have already confirmed it. Sampaoli arrives after having directed 33 games for Club Atlético Mineiro. In the Brazilian entity, he has collected 10 wins, 14 draws, and nine defeats. His arrival has been the 'plan b' of the entity, as Martín Anselmi seemed to be the chosen one to arrive at the bench of Talleres. It is expected that this Thursday he will present himself to the squad to begin the first pre-season training sessions. It has been 26 years since the one from Casilda has not trained in the benches of the First Division of Argentina. In this period of time without being in his native country, he stands out for his passage through Sevilla FC and his stage as coach of the Albiceleste selection. The 2018 World Cup ended with an elimination in the quarterfinals against the France of Kylian Mbappé. He did not achieve any relevant success as a coach. With Universidad de Chile, he did achieve expectations. There he collected three national championships and the Copa Sudamericana 2011. Now, Talleres is a new challenge to face. From Argentina, they point out that he will be the best-paid coach in the history of the club. It remains to be seen if he will be able to relaunch his career or, on the contrary, get stuck in one of the most important clubs in Argentine football.
